About Me

I began my financial career in 2006 and have spent the last 9 years navigating the world of banking, investing and financial planning. In that time I've learned a TON about how people behave with money. There are a lot of great resources out there, but many people I've talked to either have tried a system and failed, or don't have the time for the record-keeping that strict budget work requires.

Through this blog I hope to offer a different way of approaching issues with money by examining the emotion and psychology that may be contributing to our financial decisions. By having a better understanding why we're doing what we're doing in the first place my hope is that the numbers will begin to take care of themselves. That being said this isn't just a blog about personal finance. I will also be discussing career, family, spirituality and a variety of other topics.

This is not to say we can get away with simple platitudes. We need to have a plan. Along the way I will certainly be offering some practical advice and budgeting resources; however, just as losing weight isn't all about counting calories, financial and personal wellness isn't all about addition and subtraction or inspirational quotes. If it were that simple we'd all be rich and thin!
